Power demand in East Malaysia continues to increase corresponding Malaysian economy expansion. Sabah Electricity Board (SEB) decided to introduce 40MW capacity Barge Mounted Power Plant (BMPP) configured by 2 x IHI LM2500 on Fast Track Completion. This BMPP is operated on distillate oil in simple cycle mode. 40MW of electricity is being fed to SEB's grid. IHI designed, supplied and started up the Gas Turbine Power Plant. The barge was built by Sabah Shipyard Sdn. Bhd.
